Day 20 Psalm 138:1-3, 7 The Lord’s Goodness to the Faithful
(Memorization Scripture: v. 2)
1 I will praise You with my whole heart;
Before the gods I will sing praises to You.
2 I will worship toward Your holy temple,
And praise Your name
For Your loving kindness and Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
3 In the day when I cried out, You answered me,
And made me bold with strength in my soul.
....
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;
You will stretch out Your hand
Against the wrath of my enemies,
And Your right hand will save me.
[Sharing] David is known for his incredible fellowship with God. In these verses, David emphasizes praising God with “my whole heart.” In our daily walk with him, it is too easy to praise Him with only part of our heart. Wholeheartedly means in EVERYTHING. Are you able to be like Paul and Silas and praise Him from the stocks and chains? Are you able to worship God in the midst of trials, temptations, and the gods that we confront every day? Verse 2 is interesting because it has to do with aligning perceptions. Are you able to adjust your field of vision from the problem to the Solution? In kindness and truth, God has shown His Word and His way to be higher than any other. Give thanks for the boldness and strength He has bestowed on you!
