Annual Bible Reading Plan:
Ps. 141
Hag. 1-2
Heb. 4
Day 22 Psalm 57:7-11
7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast! I will sing and make melody!
8 Awake, my soul! Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake early!
9 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations.
10 For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth!
Reflection: When David fled and hid in the cave, he composed this psalm of praise—“Do not destroy” serves as a reminder not to harm God’s anointed or let difficult circumstances become our destruction. Through this song, he reminds himself not to despair, but to encourage himself: “My heart is steadfast, my mouth sings, my soul awakens; I will give thanks among the peoples and sing praise among the nations.” Because of God’s steadfast love and faithfulness, I choose to trust Him and bear witness to His glory, letting my life reflect His majesty in every circumstance.
